ASI Springs is a family-owned and operated Australian spring supplier and manufacturer based in Warragul, Victoria. While our business was established in 2007, our story goes back much further — to the established spring ranges, experience and customer relationships built by John While Springs and Automatic Spring Industries.
For many years, John While Springs and Automatic Spring Industries supplied springs to Australian industry, building an extensive range of standard compression and extension springs along the way. Their products were used across a wide variety of industries and applications, creating a well-established range that Australian customers had come to rely on.
When the Australian operations of these businesses came to an end, there was a risk that this established range of springs — along with the knowledge and customer relationships behind it — would disappear from the Australian market.
ASI Springs was established to keep that range available.
In May 2007, ASI Springs commenced operations after purchasing the existing stock and customer base of John While Springs and Automatic Spring Industries.
This included approximately 1,050 different sizes of extension and compression springs, providing an extensive range of products from the very beginning.
Our Managing Director, Russell Mollison, had previously worked as a sales representative for John While Springs in Australia. His experience with the products, customers and spring industry provided a strong foundation for continuing to serve the Australian market.
Rather than starting from scratch, ASI Springs was built on an existing foundation of industry knowledge, product experience and customer relationships — carrying that legacy forward while developing the business in its own direction.
From the beginning, ASI Springs has been built around a simple approach to business: know our products, look after our customers and take pride in doing the job properly.
As a family-owned and operated business, we value the relationships we build with our customers and suppliers. We're not just interested in making a sale — we want to understand what our customers are trying to achieve and help them find the right solution.

Over the years, ASI Springs has developed relationships with manufacturers and suppliers both in Australia and internationally. These connections allow us to offer a broader range of products while maintaining access to specialist manufacturing capabilities and materials.
Our history also came full circle through our connection with the international John While Springs business. In 2017, ASI Springs approached John While Springs in Singapore regarding a bespoke spring requirement. This led to a relationship with Lesjöfors and the introduction of a range of stainless steel torsion springs to the Australian market.
Since opening our doors in 2007, ASI Springs has grown well beyond the original range we inherited. Nearly two decades on, we continue to combine that original industry knowledge with new products, manufacturing capabilities and supplier relationships.
What began with a decision to keep an established range of springs available to Australian customers has grown into a specialist spring supplier serving customers across Australia and beyond.
While the business has evolved, our focus remains much the same: providing quality products, practical advice and solutions that work.
Today, ASI Springs operates from our facility in Warragul, Victoria, supplying customers throughout Australia and beyond.
